Who we are
REANNZ (Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd) is the Crown-owned company that owns and operates a high-speed, unrestricted broadband network for the New Zealand education, research and innovation communities - KAREN.
Who we are and what we do
REANNZ is an expert purchaser of networks and services. As a not-for-profit membership organisation, we work on behalf of our community, aggregating demand to procure the best and most cost effective networks and services from the market to meet the community’s specialist needs.
The efficient management of REANNZ, ongoing reliable operation of KAREN, and engagement with our members is what we do day-to-day. Members’ use of the network and our work to meet their needs never stands still. Connecting new members, extending the reach of the network, expanding services and tools, and keeping KAREN advanced are ongoing activities.
We are a community led and member focused organisation. We work with and for our members to ensure they consider KAREN ‘their’ network and feel fully engaged in its evolution. KAREN members lead and participate in policy, service and network development of through a variety of member forums.
